The Bighorn River & Lake

Fishing the river — it all starts with a 21 mile stretch of calcium rich water with an average of 4,000 fish per mile. The perfect float, it loops through an undisturbed valley flush with insect and aquatic life, where you’ll cast for trout that average 14”-18” with the possibility of a 24” trophy lurking just a cast away. While summer is an amazing experience on the river, especially with a root beer float in hand, some of the best fishing can be had in the late fall and early spring.

Fishing the lake — this reservoir is one of the best kept secrets in the United States. The scenic beauty is second to none with canyon walls soaring up to 1,000 feet above waters loaded with a variety of species. The fishing really is as thrilling as the view. You can hook anything from small mouth bass, carp, crappie to cat fish. We offer lake trips from mid July through August, whether you spend a whole trip “up top” or just one of your days, our lake guide Jared puts it best; “It’s the bomb.”
